The Head of Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development in Castilla-La Mancha participated in a special edition of the Agropopular radio program, held in Alcaraz. During the event, the Head of Agriculture highlighted that Aceites de la Sierra de Alcaraz is one of three collective olive oil brands in Castilla-La Mancha, alongside Aceites Campos de Hellín(Albacete) and Aceites Valle de Alcudia (produced in the southwestern region of Ciudad Real). These brands complement the region’s existing four Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) for olive oil: DOP Aceite Campo de CalatravaDOP Aceite de la AlcarriaDOP Montes de Toledo, and DOP Aceite Campo de Montiel. The Head of Agriculture emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance the recognition and quality of these collective brands.

The Head of Agriculture underscored the importance of olive oil production as a driver of economic development for the region, alongside complementary sectors such as tourism. In this regard, the cultural and artistic heritage of Alcaraz was particularly praised. The town boasts one of the most remarkable historical and artistic ensembles in the province of Albacete and the broader Castilla-La Mancha region, centered around its iconic Plaza Mayor.
