The President of Castilla-La Mancha has signed a formal document endorsing the candidacy of Campo de Criptana to join UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network as a City of Music. This recognition would enhance the international visibility of the town and the region, showcasing its commitment to creativity and cultural heritage.
The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has pledged its full support to the municipality, offering assistance with all necessary procedures before the Ministry of Culture, which is responsible for submitting the candidacy to UNESCO, as well as before Spain’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO in Paris.

This recognition would celebrate the collective effort of the citizens, institutions, and musical groups of Campo de Criptana, who have successfully created a unique cultural ecosystem. Notably, the town is home to the Professional Conservatory and the Municipal School of Music and Dance, which currently train more than 1,000 individuals in music.
Additionally, the President highlighted the significant contributions of the Ciudad de la Mancha Orchestra and innovative cultural initiatives such as the ‘Airén Fest’ and ‘Escenario Infinito,’ both of which have further cemented Campo de Criptana’s reputation as a hub of musical excellence and creativity.
